Orthotics

WHAT ARE ORTHOTICS?

Orthotics are insoles prescribed to correct the biomechanics of the foot and their associated symptoms. Orthotic devices can vary from simple anti pronatory devices to customised insoles. Our physiotherapists with post graduate training in this area will decide with you what best suits your needs and footwear. We can also provide you with customised toe separators, metatarsal dome pads for forefoot pain, heel raises for leg length discrepancies, and toe alignment splints for bunions and hammer toes.

OUR ORTHOTICS

We will take you through the stages of the gait cycle using video gate analysis to measure and assess the biomechanics of your feet and lower limb as you walk or run on a treadmill. We use Podiatry Products Limited who have been manufacturing orthotic devices since 1993. They are the leading supplier of orthoses in Ireland. The freedom of a custom device allows us to prescribe exactly what each individual patient needs every time. Podofirm Orthotics Podofirm Orthotics Our custom made orthotic devices are truly made to measure and each one is unique. We allow total flexibility in the customisation of your device. Each device is individually designed and handmade to your requirements. Current research and theories of biomechanics from a multidisciplinary knowledge are applied to both the manufacturing processes and product design. We believe that if a patient requires a custom made device, then this is what they should get. Therefore we choose to have our custom made devices manufactured by hand.
